Who we are

Chapter Comms Ltd (“Chapter”, “we”, “us”) is the data controller responsible for your personal data. We are registered in England & Wales under company number 9111400, with our registered office at 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ.

If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your data, contact us at hello@chaptercommunications.co.uk.

The information we collect

When you contact us. If you complete an enquiry form or email or call us, we collect the details you choose to give us, typically your name, email address, the organisation you represent and the content of your message.

When you use this website. We use privacy-friendly, aggregate analytics that measure how the site is used, for example which pages are visited, the approximate region a visit comes from and the type of device or browser. This data does not identify you and is not used to track you across other websites. See our Cookie Policy for detail.

How we use your information, and our legal basis

We use your enquiry details to respond to you, to discuss working together and to provide our services. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and running our business, and, where relevant, taking steps to enter into a contract with you.

We use analytics to understand and improve the website. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in maintaining and improving our site. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling.

Who we share it with

We share personal data only with the service providers who help us run our business, and only as far as they need it. These include our website host (Vercel), our email delivery provider (Resend), our privacy-friendly analytics provider (Vercel) and, where you have given consent, Google Analytics (Google). Each processes data on our behalf under appropriate contractual safeguards.

We may also disclose information where we are required to do so by law, or to protect our rights. We do not otherwise share your data with third parties.

International transfers

Some of our providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards recognised under UK data protection law (such as UK adequacy regulations or standard contractual clauses) to make sure your data remains protected.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry data only for as long as we need it to respond to you and, where we go on to work together, for the duration of that relationship and a reasonable period afterwards for our business records. When we no longer need it, we delete it. Analytics data is held in aggregate and is not linked to you.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@chaptercommunications.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you are unhappy with how we have handled your data.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised date above.
